Prof. Krisana Kraisintu, PhD
Professor Dr. Krisana Kraisintu is a transformative figure in global health, renowned for making lifesaving medicine accessible to underserved populations. Her groundbreaking work in developing generic antiretroviral drugs enabled Thailand to become the first developing country to produce its own HIV medication, saving over 100,000 lives and drastically lowering treatment costs.
Driven by a deep commitment to equity, she brought her expertise beyond borders—establishing pharmaceutical factories in countries like Congo, Tanzania, and Burundi, and expanding access to treatment for HIV, malaria, and other critical illnesses. Millions across Africa have benefited from her efforts.
Dr. Krisana has also championed the integration of traditional medicine and built pathways for knowledge sharing through hands-on training programs in Asia and Africa. Her career exemplifies how science, when combined with compassion and courage, can reshape systems, uplift communities, and improve lives on a global scale.
